English Language Support

All NAPS’ students have access to Academy’s comprehensive English Language Support program.

English Language Requirements

International students are required to demonstrate a minimum level of proficiency in the English language to qualify for admission. This can be done by:

having completed the NSW Higher School Certificate or equivalent, or
having an IELTS (Academic) test with a minimum score of 6.00 with no sub-band score less than 5.5 or equivalent in TOFEL or other accredited English language test program.

When an IELTS score or equivalent is used to demonstrate English proficiency, that score must have been attained no more than within two years of the date of application for admission.

Students who do not meet the minimum English Language requirement may be permitted to enrol after successful completion of an appropriate English for Academic Purposes program accredited by NEAS and approved by NAPS.

English Language Support Program

This program is focused on developing Academic Skills and Academic English as well as understanding the rules and conventions that form the basis of academic study.

The program includes:

Academic English and Study Skills workshops held throughout each trimester
Individual consultations available by appointment
Access to additional free online resources to enhance Academic Skills and Academic English skills in the NAPS Skills Hub Library
