Dr Barizah is Dean of the Faculty of Law at Airlangga University, Surabaya, Indonesia. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Airlangga University. She was awarded the Australian Development Scholarship twice at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) where she later earned her PhD after earlier completing her Master of Laws.
Dr Nurul Barizah provides extensive expertise in Islamic education and culture, International Intellectual Property Rights and International Dispute Resolution.
In 2018, Dr Barizah was chosen as one of the Board of Governors of the International Association of Law Schools (IALS). In 2012, the Australian Government awarded Dr Barizah an Australian Alumni Award for Excellence in Education for her significant contribution to the development of law and well-being of Indonesia.
She has served as a consultant to several Indonesian Ministries and Agencies as well as on several Civil Society Organizations (CSOs). She established the Intellectual Property Rights Law Lecturers Association of Indonesia.
