Dr Bongani Munkuli is a scholar-practitioner with a multidisciplinary background in accounting, finance, and economics. He holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from the University of Wollongong (Australia) and a PhD in Financial Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa). He also holds master’s in Banking & Finance from Catholic University of Milan (Italy), Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Financial Management, and bachelor’s degrees in accounting & economics, and Applied Mathematics from institutions across South Africa. 

Dr Munkuli has several years’ experience, teaching at the University of Witwatersrand, University of South Africa (UNISA), and the University of Wollongong. He currently teaches Accounting and Finance courses and serves as a lecturer in Financial Accounting at the National Academy of Professional Studies (NAPS). 

He possesses valuable corporate experience in the financial services industry, accounting and public infrastructure sector as a senior financial analyst, having led multi-million-dollar research projects on water infrastructure tariff modelling, and local government asset management.  

His research interests span financial regulation, integrated reporting, and social accounting. He has presented at international conferences and published in journals such as the Accounting, Auditing & Accountability Journal. He is also a peer reviewer for several journals and has examined multiple postgraduate theses. His work reflects a unique blend of scholarly insight and practical experience, positioning him as a thought expert in finance, regulation, and social impact research.
