image Dr. Sonam Tobgye holds a PhD in Economics from RMIT University and a Master of Philosophy in Economics from Monash University in Australia. His research interests focus on applied microeconometrics, particularly in the areas of development and gender economics. Previously, he served as the Deputy Chief Research Officer at the Royal Research and Advisory Council in Bhutan. From 2005 to 2015, he held various positions at the Supreme Audit Institution in Bhutan, including Senior Auditor, Assistant Audit Officer, Audit Officer, Senior Audit Officer, and Deputy Chief Audit Officer.

Additionally, he has a Master of International and Development Economics from HTW Berlin University of Applied Sciences in Germany, a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Management from Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands, a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management from the Royal Institute of Management in Bhutan, and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from Delhi University. He specialises in teaching subjects such as Economics, Quantitative Analysis, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Data-Driven Decision-Making. He is passionate about leveraging data-driven insights to inform evidence-based policy and promote inclusive economic development."
