Kristin Rucks is an early childhood teacher, play therapist, and lecturer with over 20 years of international experience working with children and families. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and Early Childhood Studies and a Master’s degree in Play Therapy from the University of Roehampton in London. Kristin is currently preparing to commence doctoral studies in education, further developing her research interests in early childhood practice and children’s wellbeing. 

Kristin’s professional background includes early childhood teaching, play therapy, behaviour support, and teacher education. Her work is guided by a strong belief in play as a powerful medium for learning, emotional expression, and relationship building. She has a particular interest in holistic child development, trauma-informed practice, and supporting children’s social and emotional wellbeing. She is passionate about preparing future educators to create inclusive, play-based learning environments that foster children’s curiosity, resilience, and sense of belonging. 

Kristin’s international experience across Switzerland, Germany, the United Kingdom, Russia, and Australia has shaped her understanding of how cultural perspectives influence early childhood education and family practices. Through her teaching, she aims to bridge theory and practice and inspire educators to support children’s development through meaningful, responsive, and relational pedagogy.
