
William John Taggart is a well-known lecturer in the area of Business Law, having graduated from the University of Sydney and admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW in 1974. John served as a prosecutor for the Federal Deputy Crown Solicitors and also in private practice before he joined the NSWIT as a business Law Lecturer, remaining there as it changed into UTS. He was appointed Chairman of the Migration and Nationality Committee of the International Bar Association and then elevated as a Council Member to the Section on General Practice. He has taught now for over 40 years, most notably at the University of Technology Sydney, but also in Malaysia and Shanghai University. He was awarded the Reserve Forces Decoration (RFD) for service as an officer in the Australian Army Reserve.
