Professor Jonathan Tyler is the Foundation Professor of Accounting at NAPS. Formerly an Associate Professor and Deputy Head of Accounting and currently Visiting Fellow at the University of Technology Sydney where he worked for over thirty years. Jonathan commenced his academic career at the University of NSW and has held visiting positions at several overseas universities including the University of Texas at Austin and most recently the University of Oxford.

Jonathan has a BCom (Hons) and MCom from UNSW and a PhD from UTS. He publishes in financial accounting, governance and accounting education, and is the lead author of the four editions of the foundation financial accounting textbook ACCT Financial (Asia Pacific). He is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, a company director and for twenty years was a director and company secretary of Sydney Educational Broadcasting Limited.

Professor Tyler consults in higher education and is a TEQSA-registered Expert in accounting and business education. He also continues as a doctoral supervisor and academic mentor.
