Michael Dalton’s excellent communication and interpersonal skills give an extra layer of support to students and teachers in his role as NAPS English Language Support Unit Manager.

In his role, Mr Dalton is responsible for eLearning, English Language support and the Professional Development of students to help ensure they can reach their potential at NAPS.

He has a Master in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and a Graduate Diploma in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Teaching from the University of Technology, Sydney. His Bachelor of Arts Degree was from the University of New South Wales.

As the Learning Support Teacher for Careers Australia (CA) Parramatta and Sydney Campuses and at several other training organisations, Mr Dalton developed effective skills in evaluating students for language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) ability. He is also adept at finding the best ways to provide structured support as well as inspiring students to help themselves.

At NAPS, his role includes making a significant contribution to curriculum and program development and review, especially in relation to students at risk. He runs professional development sessions for academic staff in English Language and Professional Skills support. His international experience includes over a decade in Italy, so he is fluent in Italian.
